Will there be any lessons learnt after the murky and suspicious death of Australian Mossad agent Ben Zygier in an Israeli gaol, asks Evan Jones.
AUSTRALIAN-BORN Ben Zygier, known in the media until days ago simply as Prisoner X, died in December 2010 in a high security Israeli prison cell. He had migrated to Israel in 2002 and had since started a family. He had reputedly become a Mossad agent, and was in the possession of multiple passports and multiple aliases.
What is the background to this hot news item globally?

One of the Zygier family’s neighbours said Ben was fluent in Hebrew and dux of Bialik College. “I would talk to him in Hebrew as he was fluent in the language,” she said. “He was a very helpful guy, always happy and smiling. He was the dux of his college, went to Monash University to study law and became a successful lawyer.
Apart from being smart, a nice guy.
Bialik College? Wikipedia to the rescue:
Since being established in Carlton North in 1942, Bialik College offers the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE). Although Bialik College is considered a ‘Jewish day school’, from its beginning it was intended to be a Zionist school, with the establishment of the State of Israel central to its identity.

It appears that Ben Zygier learnt all his lessons well, the compleat product of Bialik College’s desired socialisation.
Bialik College is not alone amongst Australian Jewish faith schools in its consideration of the state of Israel, as noted on IA in an earlier article. Here are excerpts from a sample of school mission statements:

Along with perennially exemplary – even over the top – ideals of personal morality and social ethics, there is a perennial (seemingly uncritical) commitment to the state of Israel. Save, at least in this sample, for Mount Scopus, where the explicit commitment to Israel has disappeared, but a commitment to Zionism (meaning unspecified) remains.
Now, this is a peculiar state of affairs. Israel’s raison d’être is racial discrimination and ethnic cleansing. How these schools reconcile their devotion to exemplary ethical values with devotion to an exemplary institutionalised opponent of ethical values is an unasked and unanswered question.
Even apart from Israel’s manifest criminality, nation states in general have no morality — only interests. That any educational institution worth its salt would bestow a commitment to the wellbeing of a particular nation state is, of necessity, asking for trouble.
This bizarrerie is a natural product of political Zionism — one that the marginalised ‘spiritual’ Zionists predicted in the early 20th Century. The anti-Zionist Moshe Menuhin – brought to Palestine by his family as a child, but leaving it as a young man in 1913 – appropriately labelled the debasement of Jewish values in the suppressed title of his 1965 book The Decadence of Judaism in Our Time – “Jewish” Nationalism: A Monstrous Historical Crime and Curse.

Whether Zygier killed himself or not is irrelevant. Zygier was murdered by the state of Israel. To repeat, notes Bialik College:
We are a Zionist school that inculcates a love of Israel. We recognise the centrality of Israel and Hebrew to the Jewish people. We support Israel and are committed to its well-being.
Zygier learnt his catechisms and did the same. Except that a rift, it appears, developed between Israel’s concept of its ‘well-being’ and Zygier’s sense of his own well-being. Zygier made the ultimate sacrifice with his life for the good of Israel, as conceived by its leadership.
The Wikipedia entry for Bialik College had two entries under ‘Notable Alumni’ — that of Joshua Frydenberg and Anthony Goldbloom. On 14th February, someone has added Ben Zygier to this list. Is this sick? Is Zygier’s trajectory and demise something that his College would be proud of? Has the entry been made by someone other than Bialik College personnel?
Ben Zygier made ‘aliyah’ to Israel. By contrast, Joshua Frydenberg made aliyah to the Liberal Party of Australia and to Federal Parliament – a life choice not without risks, but a decidedly safer option than Zygier’s ‘principled’ choice.
Will there come a time when Australian Jewish schools drop Israel from their mission statements? Will there be any lessons learnt from Ben Zygier’s personal sacrifice, duty to the calling urged by his schooling, in the face of Israel’s perfidy?
As for the Promised Land, forget Israel. Australian Jews have reached their promised land already. To paraphrase Rod Quantock — you’re standing in it.
* UPDATE: 19/2/13, 11.35am: A commenter has noted my earlier claim – that Bialik College had sacked its former principle, Joseph Gerassi, ‘evidently on the basis of his homosexuality’ – lacks credible evidence. The commenter is correct. That claim (and its adverse implications for the College’s formal values), on the current evidence, was unwarranted.
Some who have reason to know claim that Gerassi’s sin was an abrasive management style. That sole posited explanation, plausible in itself, sits uneasily with Gerassi’s treatment. The summary sacking of Gerassi, without defence (but with acknowledgement of his positive contribution to the school) remains and is anomalous, a process that does have adverse implications for the College’s formal values.

This whole story is horrific, but it must be remembered here that Australia has been disappearing thousands of people a year, has gag orders on all our media not to report the stories and if the stories are published the victims are brutalised.

Amazingly we have not heard nor seen a word from him.
The risk associated with any comment on all or anything to do with Israel or Judaism is that immdeditely the howl goes up “anti-semite”, because the state of Israel does not brook any criticism. Yet can we sit back and condone the treatment of Palastinians, who while not entirely blameless, are crushed by Israeli military strength financed by rich American Jewry.
It seems that even if you are born of the Jewish faith in Australia, then you are Israeli first and Australian second.
How disturbing that even if born in Australia you are obliged to do compulsory military service in the State of Israel. Is this not potentially a threat to Australia’s national security? The enemy within?
It has been suggested that Ben Zygier had a “crisis of conscience”, unfortunately we will never know, but to any reasonable person it would be an obvious reaction to the excesses of the Israeli State.
And before anyone starts ranting about what the Government did or did not do, the initial responsibility was for the State of Israel to notify the appropriate department or the family to ask the Government for Consular assistance. But then Mossad may have intimidated the family into silence.
A thoroughly nasty business, with little hope of the truth ever surfacing.
Perhaps it’s time for the various Jewish Colleges to rethink their allegiences.

The question must be asked though, even if the author thinks it irrelevant: How, in a supposedly ‘suicide proof’ cell, did a prisoner hang himself? To me, the answer would have to be either the cell was not ‘suicide proof’ or his death was by a third party. If the latter, then in just displays how embattled Israel is IMHO

No online discussion, no questions about the ethics of a young, clearly immature and politically naive young man heading off to learn how to kick around Palestinian prisoners in their own land.
I fired off some questions to the ABC for them to consider but this was clearly a puff piece for Israel and all hard questions were off limits.
One wonders if a young Palestinian Aussie had bragged about going to Gaza to serve with Hamas. I doubt he’d be allowed to even get on the plane. The intelligence services would certainly open a file on him. And he sure as hell wouldn’t get an ideologically driven puff piece from the ABC to cheer him on his way.

Any religious schools seek to promote their own religion & beliefs in their syllabus. Islam schools in Australia promote Sharia law, which in many ways is against gender equality, tolerance for others, & democratic society. Any negative story about Judaism will bring out rabid anti-Semites, yet the thing is, that nearly all religions are political in some way or another, & all promote their version. This case is appalling, & it does need to be investigated & dealt with & exposed. But it shouldn’t be used as a political sledge-hammer just focused on Jewish people. Islam has far more ‘disappearances’, yet people have come to expect it, so there is less public outrage when it happens.
Religion is at the root of most of the conflict in the world today. Fundamentalist religion is a form of insanity, that is appealing to people who don’t like to be responsible for their own actions & lives. We may have signed UN treaties to enforce freedom of religion, but we also should have insisted on a requirement of freedom FROM religion. Religion shouldn’t be allowed to be enforced on people by their family, culture, or community. Children should have the right to an education that is fact-based, & free from indoctrination. We should close all religious schools in Australia, which segregate sectors of the community. There should be a standard education that does not include this damaging indoctrination of naive children. At the very least, we should remove all government subsidies to religious institutions & schools. This case shows the damage that such indoctrination causes to young impressionable people.

And yet despite these Jewish school’s attempts to instill an unquestioning support for Israel, are they so different to our schools that are not faith dominated?.
They still seem to churn out plenty of Jewish students who do the exact opposite and become vocal anti-Israeli government policy critics.
I went to a middle class state school where I was beaten mercilessly with a cane by a demented English master whose face would flush bright red- a terrifying sight, and now have a slightly deformed knuckle on one hand after I flinched and turned My palm around- vile physical abuse for alleged infractions as not paying attention to his droning voice.
When my mother found out she stormed into the local MP’s office and demanded it stop only to be told to tell her child to ‘behave himself’.
We were regularly ordered to “respect our flag and Queen” (in schools in 2 countries – the UK & Oz) but children either grow up and question these things, or don’t.
What strikes me about this whole case is that as usual, ASIO’s sticky fingers are all over it. That’s the ASIO that the do-nothing McLlelland allowed off the hock for their decades of abuse.
The great stain on our education system is the public funding of exclusive schools, schools that are not required to adhere to any ethical standards at all in order to get millions from taxpayers. Australia is unique in this regard. No other country gives public finding to exclusive schools. Many countries give funding to independent(of the state system) schools, but always on a number of conditions. First, the school must accept all comers – they cannot select or expel students they don’t like. Second, the school cannot charge significant extra fees. Because of this, these schools are often entitled to the same funding that state schools get, like in The Netherlands (this is real freedom of choice, rather than freedom to exclude). And finally, the school must teach the national curriculum, not some rubbish like the universe is 4000 years old, or “climate change is crap”. Religious instruction at these schools must a separate component and not interwoven throughout the curriculum. I might say, elsewhere, state schools never include religious instruction, like we have here with “Chaplains”. Lord spare us (ha ha).
But there is a deeper question. Here, as in most other places, there is a view that parents have “the right” to bring their children up in the manner in which they see fit. This includes “the right” to fill the child’s head full of stuff and nonsense, “the right” to teach their children to race hate and “the right” to teach their children to adopt whatever prejudices that the parents have. A state education system ameliorates many of the worst excesses of these parents, but a private education simply reinforces them. No doubt, that is why some parents like these schools. However, this is the reason that school systems elsewhere in the world do nothing to encourage exclusive schools. They are permitted, but are not subsided by the taxpayers.
The fact that most western world governments are so afraid to criticise the actions of the Israeli government is extremely worrying. Of course, anyone who criticises the Israeli government is always branded as antisemitic. This is not only arrogant but almost always deceitful. But critics will be targeted in our MSM usually by dozens of Zionist apologists without any right of reply. So much for freedom of speech. There are many critics of the government of China, but they are not, as matter of course, branded as anti Asian or anti Chinese.
It seems to me that Prisoner X was most likely killed by the Mossad. But the videotapes will reveal the truth or otherwise. If they did nothing wrong then they will release them. They will either show a man committing suicide or a murder. The other puzzling thing is the lack of comments from the family. Perhaps they are too afraid to, in case they meet the same fate as their son.
And on the subject of religion and knowing the Catholic Church comes in for real stick on this forum, a report has just been released in Ireland about the so-called scandal of the Magdalen Laundries where girls were reportedly beaten , had heads shaved as punishment and so on.

Unfortunately for film-makers of the award winning ‘Magdalene Sisters’ who wanted to ‘give survivors a voice” (a much bandied about term these days), a movie which drove intense tabloid sensations that it’s a wonder every Irish priest and nun wasn’t driven out like the snakes were alleged to have been.. the MacAleese Report paints a somewhat different picture by finding conditions were the same as commercial laundries (although these were shocking) head were shaved (but only when lice was discovered) and of the over 100 remaining women who worked there, not one could recall physical beatings or sex abuse, although conditions were tough…very tough but the norm for anywhere in Ireland those days (and the UK, USA and undoubtedly Australia).

The article states that he is gay and that he would have trouble finding work elsewhere in the Jewish education system because of it. I don’t believe it is suggesting that this is the reason he was sacked. The school knew he was gay when he was employed. His sexuality may have been a contributing factor in his sacking, but that has not been stated publicly and at this point in time it is sheer speculation.
As to him having trouble gaining employment as a gay man in the Jewish education system, there is as at least one Jewish day school in Australia (The King David School here in Melbourne) that is openly accepting of sexual diversity, and I doubt they would not employ someone on the grounds of their sexual orientation.

It is nothing to do with jews per se. It is about a private education system in Australia that indoctinates about another country, a system here that allows young jews to go to another country and steal land, murder the natives, spy for that country and instils a sense of victimhood in people who are safe and secure.

There is no outrage over the bomb in Quetta from here in Australia because we like to pretend that Quetta is safe for the Hazara people we have locked up in cages so we can send them back.

The key to the local interest is that he was born here. We (as a nation)weren’t interested in every single westener that converted to radical Islamist, only David Hicks etc. etc.
We (generally) do not have a global idedntity, otherwise we would be more concerned for the starving in Africa, the slaughtered in the Middle East, and so on. As terrible as it sounds, we tend to worry mainly about what penetrates our national borders, physically or psychologically.
This story is a “gateway” for people to take more interest in Israel-Palestine issues, because it involves an ex-Australian named Ben. Were it a roadside bomb involving Pakistahn locals Mohammed and Priya, or even a Palestinian missile hitting an Israeli preschool, it would sadly generate a little less than no interest here, generally speaking.
What bothers me is how quiet the Australian government have been on this issue over the years. Our government is pretty quick to jump on (Hicks) or dump (Assange) Aussies who don’t fit the profile of orthodox stereotypical Aussies in trouble abroad. This bloke just disappeared off the radar without a peep. Even his family seem pretty happy to have kept it low key too.
When you consider that the rogue state used Aussie passports to knock off a foreign enemy in a state sanctioned assassination, and that our spooks appear to have had some knowledge about this blokes nefarious connections and activities, a little bit of bluster from our pollies over the passport issue just seems half-arsed.
Furthermore, if Mossad knew or suspected he would, or might spill their beans to us, how did they know their supposedly loyal servant was also infected by rogue inclinations?
We know Israel has inordinate influence in our political sphere, but it also seems likely that Israeli spies have compromised our security agencies to the highest levels.

And of course as BSkinner says, nobody mentions the Palestinians because “they don’t exist”!
It was like living in apartheid South Africa – the blacks were only visible as domestic servants and mine and factory slaves, but kept to live in bantustans and other enclaves of “separate but equal”.

The same Israeli team (or some of them anyway), were hired to kill two Australians “in trouble overseas” in late 2003 / early 2004. One of their intended targets was an 11 year old Australian firl.
The Israeli marksmen refused to do it — they deliberately missed their shots.
They, like some of the decent guys in our spook services (yes we have some good ones), had way more principles than the evil politicians who ordered the “hits”.
Politicians in trouble (or some of them anyway), will sell their souls to save their careers — in the above mentioned case, the Israelis were hired to eliminate some paedophiles whose exposure would threaten a political career. The Israelis dutifully bumped off some paedophiles, but refused to do the extr job, ie the spiteful killing of a little girl who had eluded a nasty paedophile ring of the “butch persuasion”.
The Israelis got a lot of influence in exchange for services rendered to that crew of high profile paedophiles, who were about to be exposed along the same lines as the Jimmy Savile – Ted Heath cases in the UK.

The ABC is reporting that “Ben Zygier is believed to have been arrested by his employer on suspicions he had informed Australia’s domestic intelligence agency of his work for Mossad”. I’d say ASIO either has deeply imbedded moles or is now a wholly owned subsidiary of MOSSAD. I imagine the latter situation goes without saying given our subordinate role to US intelligence agencies.
ABC also report that “federal Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus said his department did not need to review what Australia’s spy agencies might have known about the case of Mr Zygier.”
Dreyfus is a former board member of AIJAC (“active in lobbying the Australian government on issues of concern to Australian Jews and advocating on behalf of Israel”).

[My posts are written from “exile” – Ithe Howard govt hunted me out of Australia for knowing too much back in the 90′s. The “too much” covered a lot of things, such as govt protection for rapists and murderers, mind control experiments on violent criminals – not to cure them, but to make them more violent. but “programmable as killers, occult murders in Perth, and govt protection for the killers. treason, fraud involving Microsoft and Australia’s big banks, planned terrorist attacks etc — ie the “too much: covered a lot of territory =plus they owed me money (a lot of it). But back to the info that may be, or should be, of interest to you.
Aust Defence Dept reports prepared in the late 1990′s covered a laundry list of predicted events, most of which have since come to pass – eg Sept 11, Bali, the Arab Spring (er summer, er autumn, er winter amd on and on).
There are only three predictions on that list which are still outstanding. War with Iran is the 3rd last. The second last is an attempted “second holocaust” in the Middle East. And the last is an accompanying “ethnic cleansing” of the Jewish population from cities such as Sydney and Melbourne (And NY, London, LA etc)
Back then when those reports were written, the planned Aust strategy was to use the “refugee” problem as the pretext upon which to build up the infrastructure (transport, and camps in remote areas, brutalised “privatised” prison guards who enjoyed “biffo” and sadism), to have the prison camps manned and “ready to go” for when the order came.
Defence did everything possible to “bury” those reports – e.g. my copies were stolen in burglaries years ago.
Just to paint a bit more depth into the picture: As lots of people know, the futures trading just before Sept 11th had a strong German connection – ie there appeared to be foreknowledge of the attack within sectors of the German finance and insurance industries.
What people do not know is that there was (maybe it is still there) a functioning SS Temple set up in luxury condo in Toronto Canada. And on the night of Sept 11th/12th, there was a medal presentation ceremony held in the temple – celebrating the success of the day’s operation.
The guys who own and run the condo/temple, have a strong business presence in Australia. (Aust Defence and intell staff tipped me off about them back in 1998. Plans don’t always come to pass, so the planned holocaust and “round-up” in Australia may not happen.
But, just so there is no confusion, those Defence reports documented that the plans were much wider than just the latter day Nazi true-believers – the London financial interests that have been so in bed with Jewish finance for so long, and such apparent backers of the Zionist cause, were/are planning to turn on their Jewish partners.
The Arab Spring replacement of “independent thinkers” like Gaddafi with Arab leaders who are compliant with the wishes of London was just one of the preparatory steps to set up the “hoped for” / planned mutual destruction of both Jewish and Arab populations in the Middle East.
That may all sound far-fetched, but the success rate on those Defence Dept predictions is currently sitting at around 95%. If war breaks out with Iran, that will move up to about 97.5%.
Maybe look at it another way – with the Aust MSM bending over backwards to install the govt of its choice, and with the Aust govt (either major party) record of compliance with orders from overseas, could be trust them not to comply with orders for some “ethnic cleansing” on Aussie soil (or in a remote prison camp in the Pacific or in Malaysia or Indonesia).

But seriously, I wonder about the effect that the holocaust had on the psyche of the Jewish people. A form of generational post-traumatic stress disorder; incredible hyper-vigilance & defensiveness, that is still evident in Israel today. What was done to the Jewish people in WWII was absolute depravity; the depths of evil possible in humans. Those survivors, & the community that was near annihilated at the time, would be affected by PTSD, which as we know, affects not only the sufferer, but also can impact on subsequent generations. The abused becoming the abuser, does unfortunately occur. Of course, not all abused people become abusers, but most abusers, were themselves victims of abuse.
It will likely take generations of peace & feeling safe & secure, before such damage is healed. Unfortunately, that’s not what the Jewish people in Israel are experiencing. Regardless of the politics; if you are living daily with rockets & bombs being lobbed at your community as they try to go about their day-to-day lives; you would not likely be able to overcome your hyper-vigilance, & feelings of being persecuted, & of being under constant threat. That fear & anxiety would be passed on to your children as well. It’s a complex & a tragic situation.

The Rapes at UWA
I was exiled from Australia for a combination of things. The first was my objecting, vocally, and publicly, to the protection of the prime suspect in the ongoing rapes outside the University of Western Australia (UWA) library.
Anyone who has watched the CCTV footage of Jill Meagher being accosted in Brunswick knows the modus operandi. The rapist used to cruise back and forth, up and down the paths leading from the library trying to strike up conversations with young women. He was there night after night for months. He wasn’t a student. And campus security knew he was there.
Their mission was to protect him – they actually said so. Police would later arrest him as a prime suspect in the Claremont murders. And would be severey rapped over the knuckles for doing so.
Inspector Jim Migro of the Commissioners office told Nedlands residents that te guy was so bad that police wanted him locked up or out of Western Australia forever. But it was not to be – police were ordered to protect him, and to encourage him. Nedlands police said it. The Claremont detectives said it. The Macro Taskforce (probing the Claremont murders) covered for him.
And the WA Police emergency call centre, told UWA staff, as the guy was smashing his way into a girl’s bedroom / dormitory, that they were not allowed to interfere, even if he raped or killed the girl.
I sat in a UWA staff meeting listening to the story in total disbelief.
UWA made it very clear to their staff that, if they wanted to keep their jobs, they were not to object or interfere.
Why? Because the guy was an experiment, run out of the Victorian loony bins, to see if they could get guys to abduct, rape and kill, all on cue. The guy cruising where all the rapes were happening at UWA, was a Toorak product, the spolit nutty son of a wealthy family. Like Jill meagher’s killer, he was a gym junkie, who worked out often – to stay strong enough to overpower his victims.
He used to split his year between Perth’s western suburbs (Subiaco, Hollywood, UWA, Nedlands, Claremont), and Fremantle, and his “holidays”, back in Melbourbe – cruising the inner city streets, once again looking for victims.
He used to keep trophies from his victims – usually photos he took as he removed their clothes, sometimes clothes. He kept a stack of newspaper clippings on the Claremont killings. He was a self described (in writing) violent sexual predator. He was also a patient at Dr Dennis Cherry’s impotence clinic in Subiaco.
Going by what has happened in Perth and Melbourne over the years of the experiment, the “results” have been very good.
And yeah, I had the temerity to dare object to all that – so I and my family were run out of our own country.
It didn’t happen all at once – I was offered huge software contracts if I would leave Australia. The software companies turned out to be Defence Department fronts, in partnership with the Commonwealth Bank, the Queensland government and a bunch of ex Hitler Youth guys – now much older, and very successful in business in the USA, Germany, Canada, and Australia.
No real surprise, the Nazi group, and our banks were up to no good – our Defence Dept staff called it treason, American lawyers called it breaches of RICO legislation, and the FBI called it fraud & treason. They cheated us, and left us stranded, out of Australia.
I learned a lot about the Nazis I worked with, much of it from them. There was much to admire – but for their tendency to threaten and intimidate people, and their genocidal ideology.
The Australian govt chucked an arrest warrant on me to make sure that we could not get back into Australia. No real surprise there either – by that stage they owed me lots of money in software royalties, and the treason that Defence staff warned me about was putting big holes in Australian and US intelligence gathering. Those holes played out in Sept 2001, and 1 year, 1 month and 1 say later in Bali.
With us well and truly out of Australia, snipers were hired to shoot us – the Israeli story in one of the posts above. As per that story, the Israelis knew the background and deliberately missed their shots. The local police told me later that even the misses were some of the most brilliant shooting they ever saw.
The politician who had hired the Israelis was furious about their refusal to obey orders and had them gaoled. She then had us poisoned. They “did” my daughter at school.
She ended up losing 60% of her body weight, and her resting pulse went to 200 bpm.
I kooked at her lying in Waikato hospital, delirious, alternately unconscious, tubes and drips everywhere. The hospital pumped SEVEN litres or pints (have forgotten which, but it was seven of one of them) of blood into her in their efforts to keep her alive.
It is a sight I will never forget. It was a huge price to pay for trying to save Australian lives in Perth, to stop the rapes, and eventually, to stop the terrorist attack on Australian targets in Bali. Long before that our bank accounts had been cleaned out, our home taken.

My daughter took montsh to be able to sleep properly again because she was so traumatised. Another one of those nasty slut brained vicious excuses for a woman, mocked us because we had been targets, and because we had stood up to the Australian govt. Then her husband dropped dead. She is now a ho[eless alcoholic, bated face, the works – asking people why so much tragedy befell her.
The WA Police chief of the CIB was killed in a car-bombing.
The WA Police Commissioner’s son became a hopeless drug addict – starting from the time we were exiled. When he blew himself up+, he nearly sent the daughter of anothrt senior police officer into eternity.
One of the nastiest females I had to deal with had quitea come-uppamce. She was another rude, insulting mocker, quick with the spite, quick to put down anyone who did good. Her mother-in-law drove straight over the toddler in the driveway – killed the child on the spot. Did wonders for the marriage and family relation!

If it had the brains to do simple arithmetic, it would have known that guys who were company CEO’s in 2001, were way to young to have been in the SS. They were ex Hiter Youth, businessmen, who pocket a fee on every bank or ATM transaction made by an Australian customer.

And why not take two hats to Corryn Rayney’s daughters – she was a government lawyer who started asking the wrong kind of questions about what was going wrong in the Claremont Murder investigations – and she quickly ended up in a shallow grave in Kings Park
And why not take an extra hat for her husband – and tell him that the farcical attempts to frame him for his wife’s murder, like her death was all just a figment of the imagination.
