Before you get too carried away Gillard and her ladies yesterday voted to flog refugee women and kids to Manus island to punish so-called people smugglers and those same ladies voted to punish and brutalise single mums.
Once again, M.S comes to our rescue with her typically jaundiced view of the world.
Psst. Hey M.S, here is a little tip for you- it is not only women that are being ‘flogged’ to Manus Island, and it is not only ‘Single “Mums”‘ that have been punished and brutalised by the New Start caper. It IS after all ‘Single PARENT’, geddit? The very fact that you deliberately remove males from your post says to me that you have a very large barrow to push. Just because you have a burr up on this issue does not mean you are doing it a good service by repeatedly banging on about it with your convienent removal of over half of the asylun seeker population e.g males. It is a terrible issue, one that ALL sides of politics have used as a filthy football, and an issue that NOBODY should use to push agendas with….that includes you S.M.
Now, onto Gee’s top notch effort- He’s just getting better and better. Who nwould have thought I would start my morning singing along to a tune about Abbott Dying of Shame?
..and even better, to top it all off, there he is lurking in the shadows, that sly grin, the fedora tilted casually to one side.
My day is complete.
Happy day for me to see the PM’s speech reported around the Globe.
abbott cannot hide behind “Margie’s skirts now.
Well done Julia.
I totally agree Anne M.
She is one tough woman, and Abbott is
one gutless wonder.
Carl Bernstein the journalist of Watergate fame once said:
“The lowest form of popular culture — lack of information, misinformation, misinformation, and a contempt for the truth or the reality of most people’s lives — has overrun real journalism. Today, ordinary Americans are being stuffed with garbage.”
This takes me to an article in today’s SMH by Paul Sheehan who seems a bit more than miffed with the goings-on in parliament yesterday. Sheehan is far from shy in his loathing of the Labor Party when he writes the following:
“After sending out two attack dogs, Gutter and Sewer, to do the dirty work, after hiding behind two political zombies, Insufferable and Unspeakable, to stay in power, after using the Minister for Innuendo and the Compromise-General to play the gender card, the mask has finally dropped away to reveal the driver of the politics of hate in Australia.
The mask fell at exactly 2.42pm in the House of Representatives. Looking on were the member for Gutter, Anthony Albanese, the member for Sewer, Wayne Swan, the Minister for Innuendo, Tanya Plibersek, and the Compromise-General, Nicola Roxon, and the independents who will do anything to avoid facing their electorates, Mr Insufferable, Robert Oakeshott, and his fellow regional zombie, Mr Unspeakable, Tony Windsor.
Someone had to set Gutter and Sewer loose. Someone directed Innuendo and Compromise to play the gender card. Someone paid the bill for Insufferable and Unspeakable. Someone’s authority still rests on the vote of Craig Thomson. And someone had to approve making Peter Slipper the Speaker despite his being manifestly disrespected by either side of the house, a low point of political opportunism.”
If I apply Sheehan’s new system of naming members of parliament to that of journalists then he is the finest Journalist of Buffoonery.
