Is a replica Titanic such a bad idea? Interest in the Titanic remains high. If the ship ever materialises, I wouldn’t be surprised if Clive got his money back in no time. There are probably enough rich tourists to keep the cabins fully booked, and even if it just stayed in port I bet there would be long queues of tourists lining up to look over the ship. I’d be one of them, for sure.
While not a fan of Mr. Palmer I think he might be on a winner. Having sailed on the older ships where one could walk or sit on the open decks, I think it would be a much more popular experience than sailing on the “Floating Westfields” that pose as cruise ships today.
Maybe, though I’m not sure Gee was at all passing judgement in his pics on whether Titanic 2 should or shouldn’t be built.
Greenbottle may have a point. I once went on the QE2 and the wonderful thing was that it was like a floating Waldorf Astoria.
However this Tit.2 sounds like it might be a kitsch floating Leagues Club. Thankfully as I’m fast approaching pension age I will be banned which suits me.
